Lovella Johnson Obituary

Lovella Johnson, 96, of Milan passed away Monday, May 20, 2019.  Lovella was born Friday, February 2, 1923 in Garner, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Rosa (Short) Watts. She married Clifton (Dock) Johnson February 23, 1940 and he preceded her in death October 26, 1994.  Lovella was a homemaker and attended Pilgrims Home Baptist Church.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, growing flowers, gardening, quilting, fishing, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. 

Lovella is survived by sons: Leroy (Ann) Johnson of Milan, Eddie (Deborah) Johnson of Osgood, and Astor (Judy) Johnson of Aurora; daughter Maxine (Harold) Parks of Batesville; daughter in law Jean Johnson of Milan, 14 grandchildren and 56 great and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Belvis and Garry Johnson; 11 siblings and 1 granddaughter Penny Loveann Ward.

A service celebrating her life will be held 12 PM Friday, May 24 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Brother Charlie Combs officiating.  Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery.  Family and friends may gather to share and remember her 10 AM - 12 PM Friday, May 24 also at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given in honor of Lovella to the Shriner's Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Our Hospice of Columbus, Indiana.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, 707 S Main Street, Box 243, Milan 47031, (812)654-2141.  You may go to www.lawscarrmoore.com to leave an online condolence message for the family.
