Dennis Johnson Ortt

            Dennis Johnson Ortt, 60, of Sunman passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at his residence.  Dennis was born Thursday, September 1, 1960 in Seaford, Delaware, the son of Dorothy (Johnson) and Richard Ortt.  He married Kathy Jobst on March 20, 1993 and she survives.  Dennis was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Seaford High School in Delaware; attended the University of Delaware where he received a bachelor’s degree in business; and later received a master’s in business administration from Xavier University.  He worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation in the IT Department out of Indianapolis, Indiana.  He worked on cars and was a big do-it-yourselfer.  He enjoyed fishing, loved boating and the ocean.  Dennis was a great dad, husband, and a great guy.  He will be missed by so many who love him.

            Dennis is survived by his wife Kathy of Sunman; children Isabelle Ortt of Lafayette, Nathan Ortt of West Lafayette, and Lucy Ortt of Bloomington; parents Dorothy and Richard Ortt of Sebring, Florida; brother Mike Ortt (Kathleen) of Sterling, Virginia; sisters-in-law Rosemary Jobst-Duvall (Nelson) and Peg Matson (Dave); several nieces and nephews.
