Dorothy Bennett Obituary

           Dorothy Bennett, 93, of Moores Hill passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee.  Dorothy was born Sunday, August 21, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Margaret (Lattner) and Anthony Blanken.  She married Wilford Bennett in 1948 and he preceded her in death in May 2007.  Dorothy was a very avid member of the St. Charles Catholic Church.  She worked for many businesses in Milan, including the furniture factory, Ben Franklin dime store, Kirschner Department store, and she was a beautician.  Dorothy loved IU basketball and was a Cincinnati Reds fan.  She enjoyed word search and jig-saw puzzles; shopping; and going out to eat. 

            Dorothy is survived by her son Raymond (Patricia) Bennett of Florida, daughter Helen (Jerome) Laker of Batesville, Indiana, daughter-in-law Marilyn Kay Bennett of Columbia, Tennessee, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Anthony, son Richard Bennett, brothers Lawrence and Ralph, and sisters Clara Stahley and Mary Mann.

            Family and friends may gather to share and remember her 10 - 11 AM Tuesday 22, 2020 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 213 W. Ripley Street, Milan, Indiana 47031.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 22, at St. Charles Catholic Church, with Father Santhosh Yohannan officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.  Memorials may be given in honor of Dorothy to the St. Charles Catholic Church.  Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, Box 156, Moores Hill, IN 47032, (812) 744-3280.  Please reach out through our website at www.sibbettmoore.com to leave an online condolence message or a memory of Dorothy for the family.
