Elvis Garmon Obituary

           Elvis Garmon, 92, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at his daughters’ residence in Versailles with his loving family by his side.  Elvis was born Saturday, May 12, 1928 in Lovington, Illinois to the late Eza (Meadows) and James Garmon.  He married Marcella Yount on February 14, 1953 and she preceded him in death on December 29, 2005.  Elvis proudly served his country in the United States Army 4th Infantry and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the Sunman American Legion Post #337.  He lived most of his life in Kentucky.  Elvis attended the Pierceville United Methodist Church.  He retired from Temple Rent, Frito-Lay, and Home Juice.

            Elvis is survived by his daughters Linda Sue (Leslie) Bird of Versailles, Patricia Burpo of Martinsville, and Rae Jean Myers of Indianapolis; brothers Paul Garmon of Melbourne, FL and Gerald Garmon of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, his parents, son Lee, one sister, six brothers, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

            A visitation will be held from 9 - 10 AM Monday, November 9, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan.  A funeral service will be held at 10 AM also at the funeral home on Monday, November 9, with Rev. Jack Bible officiating.  A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, November 9, 2020 at Nebo Memorial Park, 3295 State Road 252, Martinsville, IN 46151, with full military rites provided by the Martinsville American Legion Post #230.  Memorials may be given in honor of Elvis to the Pierceville United Methodist Church.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements, 707 South Main Street, Box 243, Milan, IN 47031, (812) 654-2141.  Please reach out through our website at www.lawscarrmoore.com to leave an online condolence message or a memory of Elvis for the family.
