Maude Wheeler Obituary

           Maude Wheeler, 90, of Milan passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on Monday, July 28, 1930 in Humphrey, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Pearl (Byrd) and Alonza Watson.  She married Vernon Wheeler on August 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2002.  She was a member of the Rt. 46 Pentecostal Church near St. Leon.  Maude worked for Manderley Health Care for 3 ½ years and she was a homemaker.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and loved going to yard sales.

            Maude is survived by son Rev. Vernon (Sharon) Wheeler of Milan, Indiana; daughters Joyce (Larry) Noah of Greensburg, Indiana, Norma Banks of La Fayette, Kentucky, and Jacqueline (Bob) Kissell of Beavercreek, Ohio; brothers Ralph Watson of Piney Point, Maryland, Claude Watson of Salisbury, Maryland, and George Watson of Sacramento, California; sisters Letha Marie Hines of Brooksville, Florida and Betty Hopper of Bethel, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Alonza Watson; husband Vernon Wheeler; daughters Verna Lee Wheeler and Alethia Woliung; sisters: Pauline Salyers, Ruth Watson, and Jewel Perkins; brothers: Leo Watson, Bobby Watson, Marion Watson, and Edward Watson; son-in-law Stewart Banks; granddaughter Amanda Banks; and grandson Scott Johnson.

            Family and friends may gather to remember Maude from 5 - 7 PM Wednesday, September 23 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan.  A service celebrating her life will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 24 also at the funeral home with Rev. John Wells officiating.  Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery.  Memorials may be given in honor of Maude to the American Cancer Society.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, 707 S.
